Project description
The battery storage facility in Chemnitz was commissioned in 2017 and is one of the largest of its kind in Saxony. With a capacity of 15.9 MWh and 4008 lithium-ion battery modules, it can provide an output of 10 MW. The plant can call up its full output in just a few seconds and thus contribute to grid stability. Its construction was supported by the European Union with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The operational management and marketing of the energy output is carried out by eins energie in sachsen.
