FASA Lodge

The FASA LODGE in Oberwiesenthal is a solar-renovated, historic residential building dating back to 1830 that has been converted into a largely CO2-neutral self-catering house. It offers four apartments (30-45 m²), which can be rented at low cost by customers, partners and employees of FASA AG since the 2019/2020 winter season. The renovation included the preservation of historical elements such as vaulted ceilings and the integration of sustainable building materials, including seagrass and mineral insulation. A 100 m² solar panel covers 70 % of the energy requirements, while the remaining 30 % is provided by a wood log heating system. The lodge is used for both recreation and networking and is a showcase example of innovative, ecological building refurbishment in one of the sunniest places in Germany.
